Job Description

This position will be working specifically in our Banbury production area, producing rubber for use in our hose production. 

This position is located in Nebraska at the Continental Norfolk Nebraska location.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Demonstrate awareness and concern for the safety of self and others thru adherence of safety policies and procedures and maintaining certifications for plant safety
  • Work in highly physical, dusty, fast paced work environment, lifting 50 pounds frequently and at times lifting up to 80 pounds 
  • Maintain consistent and on time attendance
  • Operate production equipment and adhere to quality procedures
  • Use/read hose specification & measuring equipment as required (micrometers, calipers and testing equipment)
  • Record and maintain production data in accordance with specifications and quality policies.
  • Assist in maintenance of tooling and equipment
  • Attention to detail, meeting and/or exceed quality standards in work
  • Identify and solve production problems to improve process and product flow
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety
  • Actively participate in team meetings and activities
  • Value teamwork and demonstrate skills necessary to be an effective team member, working effectively with others in a highly committed small work team environment
  • Flexible and creative with enthusiasm for change and high commitment level
  • Required to learn and maintain multiple job certifications and perform a variety of tasks

  • Qualifying applicants will be required to successfully pass a phone interview, interview and additional pre-hire checks before hire.​​

THE ENVIRONMENT

  • Safety is our highest priority with an expectation that safety procedures/guidelines/policies are adhered to inclusive of safety wear such as safety glasses, safety shoes and ear plus
  • This position is assigned to the Banbury area, which is not air conditioned in the summertime
  • Work Schedule:12-hour rotating schedule & if desired  a 12-hour straight night shift may be available. In a 28 day period of time there are 14 working days and 14 days off. A Friday, Saturday and Sunday 12-hour fixed night shift may be available. 
  • Starting Wage Per Hour:
    • $22.85
    • $23.93 when working nights 6pm to 6am & weekends 6am to 6pm
    • $25.01 when working weekends nights 6pm to 6am

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE 

  • Must be 18 years old
  • Able to Lift 50 pounds frequently and at times lifting up to 80 pounds
  • Able to pass pre-hire checks including a physical strength test prior to hire 
  • Willing to work 12 hour rotating shifts (days to nights) or a fixed 12 hour night shift may be available
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future for this job opening
  • Continental is not able to pay relocation expenses for this opportunity
