Job Description
CST Field Engineer will be involved with Continental OTR (Earthmover), Industrial (Harbor, Airport, Underground Mining), Solid tires and other CST products. The person will be responsible for technical solutions activities in the designated territory. Provide technical expertise concerning before and after sales service to our staff, dealers and end-users, jobsite visit for thorough application analysis, internal and external technical training, product performance monitoring and regular reporting, warranty claim handling. This position requires extensive travel (up to 75%).
Responsibilities
- Fleet technical survey at different locations across the territory.
- In-service tires inspection and measurement based upon field evaluations objectives of current products
- Thorough application analysis and understanding in regards to tire use and performance. Also monitor jobsites on the long term for tire application related changes
- Maintain jobsite profile database.
- Analysis and understanding of customer tire related requirements and needs
- Collecting pertinent quality and performance feed-back from equipment operators, maintenance technicians and jobsite management
- Organize and thorough analysis of tire surveys at the end user, fleet, dealers and scrap yards. Out of service tire analysis and reporting
- Periodical control & reporting of product performance at specific fleet customers
- Organize, follow up & analysis of evaluation tire programs on specific products
- Maintain tire follow-up reports and database.
- Participate in design and creation of training materials that increase brand value and customers' knowledge and effectiveness in use of CST products.
- Providing technical training to field sales staff and customers as needed.
- Warranty handling, tire inspection and reporting; create technical quality reports on specific claims
- Monitor product quality and correct use of products. Create technical reports on outstanding results; collect testimonials etc.
- Use of different engineering tools and measurement systems. Install or supervise installation of those systems as needed
- Create Technical Study Report with specific improvement recommendations. Organize and perform presentations for the end-user / dealer etc.
- Meet with end-user maintenance key personnel on a regular basis
- Travel with CST and CST Dealer sales people and technicians to the jobsites as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in related field.
- 2+ years of experience in automotive field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical Tire experience
- Analytical profile with focus on thorough follow-up of technical projects
- Technical learning aptitude, ability to build relationships with internal and external customers, demonstrated great time management, planning and organizational skills, native technical curiosity
- Proficient in Microsoft applications including but not limited to Work, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail etc.
- Capable to quick learn new job-related software and engineering tools and systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work at high mountain altitude, if needed
- Ability to travel across the country and internationally, as needed.
- Fluent in English, Spanish. Preferred functional level in Portuguese.
