Renewable Growth Project Coordinator
- Contract
- Department: Renewable Growth
Company Description
Whakatakoto te tūāpapa | Laying the foundation
At Contact, we're on a mission to help build a better Aotearoa through a more sustainable energy future. As one of New Zealand's leading renewable energy companies, we're investing in the infrastructure, innovation, and people that will help meet the country's growing energy needs while supporting decarbonisation. Our renewable growth programme is a key part of that journey, helping shape the next generation of energy projects that will power homes, businesses, and communities for decades to come.
Our Renewable Growth team sits at the forefront of this work, identifying opportunities, developing projects, navigating complexity, and bringing together experts from across the business to turn ambitious ideas into reality. It is a fast paced, collaborative environment where every project contributes to strengthening New Zealand's renewable energy future. You'll be joining a team that is passionate about making a real difference and excited about what comes next.
Job Description
Te āhua o te tūranga | The nature of the role
This is more than a traditional project coordination role. You'll become a key part of the team helping keep our renewable growth portfolio moving forward, ensuring the right people have the right information at the right time. Working alongside Project Managers and our Project Portfolio Management team, you'll help coordinate governance activities, reporting, documentation, meetings, and project processes that support the successful delivery of projects across our growing portfolio.
Day to day, you'll be the person bringing clarity and structure to a busy and evolving environment. From preparing governance papers and coordinating reporting inputs, to tracking actions and maintaining project records, you'll help create the foundations that enable great project delivery. You'll also play an important role in supporting new team members, sharing processes and ways of working, and helping ensure everyone has what they need to contribute to our shared kaupapa. If you enjoy variety, love keeping things organised, and gain satisfaction from helping others succeed, this could be the perfect next step.
Qualifications
Ko wai koe | About you
You'll likely bring experience in project coordination, project administration, or project support, and you'll enjoy working in environments where there are lots of moving parts to keep track of. You're naturally organised, detail focused, and proactive, with the confidence to follow things through and keep stakeholders informed. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage documentation, records, and information with accuracy and professionalism.
The must haves are a proven ability to coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders, excellent organisational skills, a high level of integrity, and confidence working with documentation, reporting, and governance processes. Experience working within project management frameworks, financial administration, project controls, or systems such as SAP, Psoda, or Aconex would be a bonus, but they're not deal breakers. What matters most is your willingness to learn, your ability to adapt, and your comfort working in the grey while helping bring order to complexity.
We're looking for someone who is self motivated, curious, collaborative, and genuinely enjoys supporting others to do their best work. If you're excited by the opportunity to contribute to New Zealand's renewable energy future but don't tick every box, we'd still love to hear from you. At Contact, we know great people come from a range of backgrounds and experiences, and we welcome the unique perspectives they bring.
