Te Tākinatanga - Our Story
At Contact, we believe home is the most important place in the world. That belief shapes everything we do, from leading the energy transition to how we power Aotearoa and care for our people and communities.
We’re a power, broadband, and mobile company, but we’re also investing boldly in renewable energy and smarter, more connected ways of working (mahi). Our ambition is simple: to leave Aotearoa better than we found it.
Guided by our tikanga, we’re a team who care deeply about the work we do, how we support one another, and the impact we have. Simply put, we touch lives to make life better.
Pricing plays a critical role in how we bring this to life for our customers. Sitting within our Retail Revenue function, this role exists to strengthen our technical capability, ensuring pricing decisions are delivered accurately and effectively through our systems, and that customer pricing is applied with confidence at scale.
Job Description
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
This is a senior specialist role, with hands-on, technical ownership of how pricing is implemented across systems. Your impact comes from how well pricing is executed and ensuring changes are applied accurately across customer cohorts so that the business and customers can rely on those outcomes.
You’ll take responsibility for pricing cycles and system delivery with a focus on precision, pace, and clear understanding of risk. You’ll be part of a squad-based environment where collaborating, navigating ambiguity and bringing malleability to your mahi is essential.
In this role, you will:
Own the end-to-end execution of pricing changes and refresh cycles within SAP and data platforms.
Apply pricing updates across large, complex customer cohorts, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Extract, prepare, and manipulate data to support pricing decisions and system implementation.
Influence how pricing is implemented, including identifying and managing risks associated with changes.
Improve pricing processes within systems, lifting efficiency and reliability across cycles.
Work across pricing, data, operations, and customer-facing teams to ensure pricing changes land well.
Qualifications
Ko wai koe | About You
You bring strong technical depth and take ownership of how work gets delivered. You’re comfortable working with complex systems and data, and you understand the importance of accuracy when changes affect large groups of customers.
You’re someone who can hold detail while still moving at pace, and who can step into ambiguity and work through it. You’re also confident engaging across teams, helping connect technical execution with broader business outcomes.
You will likely bring:
Deep experience working with SAP, within pricing or billing environments
Strong data capability, including tools such as Databricks and Excel.
Experience applying changes across large datasets or customer cohorts.
Confidence owning pricing execution, not just analysing or supporting it.
The ability to manage risk and understand the downstream impact of system changes.
Strong attention to detail, particularly where accuracy directly affects customers.
Experience working with a range of stakeholders across technical and operational teams.
Comfort working under time pressure, balancing multiple priorities during pricing cycles.
A proactive mindset, with a focus on improving processes.
Energy sector experience is helpful but not essential. What matters most is your ability to work confidently in complex pricing or billing environments and take ownership of technical delivery.
