Logistics, Stores, & Facilities Coordinator, Renewables
- Full-time
- Department: Renewable Growth
Company Description
Whakatakoto te tūāpapa | Laying the foundation
At Contact Energy, we’re proud to be leading Aotearoa’s renewable energy future. We generate electricity from hydro, geothermal, solar and wind, and we’re investing heavily to make sure our energy system is resilient, smart and ready for what’s next. Our people are at the heart of this mahi, bringing curiosity, care and technical excellence to some of the most important infrastructure projects in the country.
One of those projects is our Glenbrook Battery Energy Storage System. This site will play a critical role in supporting the electricity system by storing energy and releasing it when it’s most needed. It’s a complex, fast moving project environment, and it needs people who enjoy being close to the action, working hands on on site, and helping turn ambitious plans into practical outcomes.
Job Description
Te āhua o te tūranga | The nature of the role
As our Logistics, Stores and Facilities Coordinator, you’ll be based on site at Glenbrook and right at the centre of project activity. Your mahi will keep materials flowing, stock accounted for, and site facilities running smoothly, so construction and commissioning teams can do their best work without interruption. You’ll work closely with the Project Manager, Materials Manager, contractors and suppliers, building strong relationships and solving problems as they arise.
This is a role for someone who enjoys ownership and responsibility. From coordinating inbound freight and receipting materials, through to managing laydown areas, hazardous goods and temporary site facilities, you’ll have visibility across the full site logistics picture. You’ll know where everything is, what condition it’s in, and what’s coming next, helping ensure the project stays safe, compliant and on schedule.
Qualifications
Ko wai koe | About you
You might not tick every box, and that’s okay. We’re looking for someone who brings solid site based logistics experience and a practical, solutions focused mindset. Ideally you’ve worked on large scale construction or infrastructure projects, and renewable energy experience would be fantastic, but not essential if your foundations are strong.
There are a few must haves. You’ll need experience with on site materials handling and logistics coordination, a good understanding of health and safety and hazardous substances requirements in New Zealand, competence using inventory or materials management systems, and the ability to work confidently in a busy construction environment. A forklift licence is required, or the willingness to obtain one within your first few months.
Beyond that, we value how you show up. You’re organised, trustworthy and calm under pressure. You communicate clearly, build rapport easily, and enjoy working collaboratively across disciplines. You’re comfortable working in the grey, adapting as plans evolve, and you take pride in doing things properly, safely and with care. If you’re curious, proactive and enjoy being part of a tight knit site team, we’d love to hear from you.
