Our goal is ambitious, and our investment pipeline includes renewable capital projects that will undergo a thorough and well-structured front-end planning process to position them for successful implementation. These are projects that consist of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Solar, Wind, and Geothermal.

Contact Energy (Contact) is seeking a highly motivated Logistics, Stores, & Facilities Coordinator to support the Major Projects Group in pursuing this ambitious investment programme. Major Projects provides effective front-end planning support and project execution delivery, while also building capability for future projects. This is a site-based position reporting to the Glenbrook BESS Project Manager, and the appointee will work with other functional department leads, key delivery team members and stakeholders in an integrated and collaborative manner.

    Job Description

    We're looking for a detail-oriented and organized Logistics, Stores, & Facilities Coordinator to join our team in Auckland, New Zealand. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our renewable energy operations by managing inventory, coordinating logistics activities, and overseeing facilities operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and a commitment to maintaining efficient and compliant operations across all logistics and facilities functions.

    • Manage inventory levels, stock rotation, and storage organization to ensure optimal space utilization and product accessibility
    • Coordinate logistics activities including receiving, warehousing, and distribution of materials and equipment
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all inventory, procurement, and facilities-related transactions
    • Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to facilitate timely delivery of materials and services
    • Monitor and analyze logistics processes to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost optimization
    • Oversee facilities maintenance schedules and coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure operational continuity
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across all logistics and facilities operations
    • Prepare reports on inventory levels, logistics performance, and facilities status for management review
    • Support the onboarding and training of new team members on logistics and facilities procedures
    • Respond promptly to operational issues and implement corrective actions as needed

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in inventory management, logistics coordination, or facilities operations
    • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
    • Proficiency in data entry, record-keeping, and attention to detail in documentation
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder collaboration
    • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities
    • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory management software
    • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements
    • Professional demeanor and ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Experience in the renewable energy sector or related industries (preferred)
    • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification (preferred)
    • Background in supply chain or procurement processes (preferred)
