Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Kitchen Steward to join our team at Constance Ephelia, Seychelles. This is a permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to work within a luxury hospitality environment, where you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and food safety. The successful candidate will be organised, efficient, and committed to supporting our culinary team in delivering exceptional service to our guests.
- Maintain rigorous hygiene and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen, including all work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas, in compliance with food safety regulations
- Manage the washing, cleaning, and proper storage of kitchen equipment, utensils, and crockery to ensure optimal condition and availability
- Assist with the organisation and inventory management of kitchen supplies, cleaning materials, and provisions
- Support the kitchen team by preparing workstations and ensuring all necessary equipment is clean and ready for service
- Perform routine maintenance checks on kitchen equipment and report any faults or damage promptly
- Dispose of waste and recyclable materials in accordance with environmental and health and safety protocols
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, equipment maintenance, and inventory levels
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless operations
- Adhere to all company policies, health and safety regulations, and food safety standards
- Work flexibly across varying shifts to support operational requirements
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Steward, Kitchen Assistant, or similar role within a hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, with desirable food safety certification or training
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Physical stamina and capability to perform manual tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Proficiency in using various cleaning techniques, equipment, and products safely and effectively
- Strong people skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards consistently
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Experience in luxury hospitality settings is desirable
- Basic numeracy skills for inventory and stock management
- Reliability, punctuality, and a professional approach to work
