Job Description
• To look after guest safety, and address any guest issues as quickly as possible, ensuring that they are completely happy with the work done.
• To complete activities on the preventive maintenance schedule as specified in hotel plans.
• To prepare surfaces for painting by removing old paint, filling holes and using abrasive blasting or wire brushes.
• To select and apply primer and paint based on the location and type of surface being finish.
• To prepare surfaces prior to beginning concrete and cement work.
• To fabricate, alter, repair and maintain wall, sidewalks, street curbs, floors, bathroom showers, sink counters, partition, manholes and other related structures or surfaces.
• To lay blocks and bricks following plans and drawings.
• To look after all the tools supplied by the Hotel in a professional manner, and correctly maintain and deposit them after finishing the shift.
• To clean all work areas after finishing the tasks properly.
• To follow all safety procedures while carrying out any tasks.
• To maintain effective communication with the Shift Leader at all times.
• To actively participate in the energy conservation programs of the Hotel.
• To utilize or recommend usage of all environmentally-friendly products in the work place.
• To suggest cost saving ideas as and when possible, not limited to the Engineering Department.
Qualifications
Qualification:
• Middle or Secondary Education + Additional training or certificates in the relevant field is a plus.
Experience:
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in hotel industry.
• Proven experience working in a top luxury resorts is a plus.
• Experience working in remote island locations is a plus.
Technical skills:
• Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
• Good knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems.
• Good knowledge of various test equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving ability
• Fluency in English or another language, written and verbal communication
• Knowledge of a second language is a plus.
