Job Description

Constance Lemuria, a luxury resort in the beautiful Seychelles, is seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Steward to join our culinary team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen facilities, ensuring smooth operations and supporting our commitment to excellence in food service.

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas according to health and safety standards
  • Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, ensuring proper cleaning of all dishes, glassware, and cutlery
  • Assist in the organization and storage of kitchen supplies and equipment
  • Support kitchen staff by restocking clean items and maintaining a tidy work environment
  • Dispose of waste in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Assist with basic food prep tasks as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of floors, walls, and other kitchen areas
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor
  • Adhere to all food safety and hygiene protocols
  • Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure efficient operations during peak hours

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a kitchen steward or in a similar role preferred
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety procedures
  • Ability to operate dishwashing equipment efficiently
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
  • Basic understanding of kitchen operations and food service industry
  • Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) preferred
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to thrive in a tropical climate and adapt to local working conditions
  • Familiarity with luxury hospitality standards is a plus
