Job Description

Constance Ephelia, a luxurious resort in the Seychelles, is seeking a professional and customer-focused Chef De Rang to join our esteemed food and beverage team. As a Chef De Rang, you will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional dining experiences for our guests, overseeing a section of our restaurant and leading a team of waitstaff.

  • Manage a section of the restaurant, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality service
  • Greet and seat guests, presenting menus and making recommendations
  • Take food and beverage orders, communicating effectively with kitchen staff
  • Oversee the proper setup and maintenance of tables, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to standards
  • Coordinate with the sommelier to recommend wine pairings and assist with wine service
  • Train and supervise junior waitstaff, promoting teamwork and efficiency
  • Handle guest inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally
  • Process payments and manage cash handling procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and any changes in offerings
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in fine dining or luxury hospitality settings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service techniques
  • Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with leadership qualities
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Basic math skills for handling bills and payments
  • High school diploma or equivalent; formal hospitality or culinary education preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of international cuisines and wine pairings
  • Understanding of luxury hospitality standards and guest expectations
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry trays/equipment
