Job Description

Join our culinary team as a Commis at the luxurious Constance Lemuria resort in the beautiful Seychelles! We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to support our kitchen operations and contribute to creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes according to recipes and chef instructions
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth and efficient food service
  • Support different kitchen stations as needed, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to learn
  • Properly store and rotate ingredients to maintain freshness and minimize waste
  • Assist in the presentation of dishes, paying attention to detail and quality
  • Participate in kitchen inventory and restocking activities
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and maintain composure during busy periods
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Continuously improve culinary skills and knowledge through on-the-job learning and training opportunities

Qualifications

  • Culinary diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and culinary terminology
  • Excellent knife skills and ability to follow recipes accurately
  • Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a high-volume kitchen
