Job Description
Join our culinary team as a Commis at the luxurious Constance Lemuria resort in the beautiful Seychelles! We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to support our kitchen operations and contribute to creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes according to recipes and chef instructions
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth and efficient food service
- Support different kitchen stations as needed, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to learn
- Properly store and rotate ingredients to maintain freshness and minimize waste
- Assist in the presentation of dishes, paying attention to detail and quality
- Participate in kitchen inventory and restocking activities
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities and maintain composure during busy periods
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment
- Continuously improve culinary skills and knowledge through on-the-job learning and training opportunities
Qualifications
- Culinary diploma or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and culinary terminology
- Excellent knife skills and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a high-volume kitchen
- Passion for culinary arts and commitment to continuous learning and improvement
