Job Description

Constance Lemuria, a luxury resort in the beautiful Seychelles, is seeking an organized and efficient Assistant Laundry Manager to join our team. In this role, you will support the Laundry Manager in overseeing the daily operations of our hotel laundry department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and service for our discerning guests.

  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the hotel laundry department
  • Supervise and train laundry staff, ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures
  • Create and maintain staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage and efficiency
  • Monitor inventory levels of linens, cleaning supplies, and equipment, placing orders as needed
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures for all laundry processes
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the laundry facility
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with laundry equipment, coordinating repairs when necessary
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to improve laundry operations and reduce costs
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure timely delivery of clean linens and guest items
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints related to laundry services professionally and efficiently
  • Prepare reports on laundry operations, including productivity metrics and quality assessments

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in hotel laundry operations, with previous supervisory experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality management certification is a plus
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining various types of laundry equipment
  • Strong knowledge of textile care, handling, and stain removal techniques
  • Experience with inventory management and staff scheduling
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures and health and safety regulations in laundry operations
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle guest inquiries professionally
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, including MS Office applications
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Familiarity with luxury hotel operations and standards is highly desirable
