The Office of Innovation & Technology (OIT) is the central IT agency for the City of Philadelphia headed by the Chief Information Officer (CIO). The Information Security Group’s (ISG) primary goal is to protect the City's information assets through the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards that are aligned with City priorities, industry best practices, and government regulations. The ISG functions as a center of excellence that provides technical expertise and guidance for the City to ensure the protection of information assets. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide analytical support for the ISG.
Job Description
Responsibility:
Monitor and analyze security event data
Coordinate with Business Units to develop Information Security processes
Identify Business Units regulatory and compliance needs.
Track and report on the effectiveness of information security technology, processes and polices
Respond to and track Security Incidents
Perform Risk Assessments
Develop Information Security Awareness programs
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to:
Understand Network Security Architecture
Develop and maintain Information Security Policies and Processes
Recognize and describe Information Security Technology
Solve practical problems and in situations where only limited standardization exists
Effectively communicate with both Business Unit leaders and technical professionals
Understand regulatory requirements and their application to a variety of business units
Stay informed of Industry trends and emerging threat landscape.
Knowledge of:
Information Security principals and best practices
Working knowledge of Information Security Technology: Firewalls, IDS/IPS, SEIM, etc
Familiarity with Information Security Regulations: HIPAA HITECH, CJIS, PCI etc
Risk assessments and audits
Industry trends
Qualifications
5 years’ experience in an Analytical IT or Information Security Role
Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree program at an accredited college or university, which has included major course work in computer science, information science or information security.
Relevant Industry Certifications required
