Job Description

Under the direction of the Assistant Commissioner, Personnel Bureau, seeking a detail-orientated individual to oversee auditing of various human resources transactions. The Senior Project Manager will play a key role in conducting employee separation audits, processing time and leave transactions, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of employee data across multiple human resources and payroll systems. In this role, the selected candidate will support the timely and accurate resolution of audit findings, system updates, and employee inquiries in accordance with applicable laws, rules, policies, and departmental standards.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Conduct time balance audits for separating employees and military personnel to ensure accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Process and update NYCAPS transactions, including the submission of system tickets as required to resolve discrepancies or processing issues.
- Review and implement DP-2001 submissions and process manual leave adjustment transactions in City Time in accordance with governing guidelines.
- Generate and analyze system reports in CHRMS, NYCAPS, and other applicable systems to support auditing and reconciliation activities.
- Research and resolve time and leave discrepancies.
- Ensure all activities are performed in full compliance with applicable laws, rules, and policies.
- Perform related duties as assigned or as necessary to support operations

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in accounting, including one course each in advanced accounting and auditing, and four years of satisfactory full-time professional accounting or auditing experience, at least 18 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, or executive capacity or supervising a staff performing accounting or auditing work; or
2. A valid New York State Certified Public Accountant license and at least 18 months of satisfactory full-time professional accounting or auditing experience in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity or supervising a staff performing accounting or auditing work.
