SUMMARY:
The Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is the City government's chief financial agency. OMB's staff of analysts and experts assembles and oversees the Mayor’s expense and capital budgets, which fund the services and activities of approximately 90 City agencies and entities.
The Management Unit Examines operations and projects at city agencies with the goal of gaining more efficient, cost-effective services and improved outcomes.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Analyze existing processes and workflows to identify areas where efficiency can be improved. Identity bottlenecks, redundancies, inefficiencies and implement changes to streamline operations. This involves reorganizing tasks, simplifying procedures, and automating repetitive or manual processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Project manager, to ensure effective coordination, planning, and execution of research and data analytics projects. They manage timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations, ensuring the team operates efficiently and delivers on project objectives.
REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate interns must be currently enrolled or accepted into a graduate program. Candidates should have strong analytical, quantitative, research and communication skills. Additionally, candidates must be proficient in MS Word and Excel
To participate in the OMB Summer Internship Program, graduate students must be currently enrolled or accepted into a graduate program.
Compensation/Duration:
Summer Graduate Intern $20 per hour
Internships will run for 10 weeks, from June 1, 2026, to August 7, 2026. The work must be done during the regular workday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. – no evenings or weekends.
This is a hybrid position with in-person days located at OMB’s offices at 255 Greenwich Street
