Join our team of data dynamos to facilitate, define, and develop metadata management solutions in support of CDO offices in the federal space. The candidate will identify and recommend iterative improvements to manual and automated data governance processes, enterprise data standards, and large-scale data migration practices in support of legacy modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will be well versed and experienced in optimizing cloud migrations using Azure tools and technologies. 

Job Duties: 

• Provide strategic direction and technical expertise for data migration solutions. 
• Provide technical leadership for a data migration to a Cloud environment.
• Interview clients to understand their data migration needs and document technical requirements
• Assess data assets and technical documentation to determine data complexity and plan for data migration
• Plan, design, implement, test, and confirm data pipelines with Data Stewards that support data migration and data product use cases in a Cloud Service Provider (CSP) data management environment. 
• Create and run data migration focused ETL scripts
• Validate data and trouble-shoot issues that arise during data migration 
• Groom a backlog of prioritized data migration tasks on a daily basis to help the team apply agile practices

Required Skillset:

• Experience in data migration methodologies and best practices on hybrid platforms. 
• Experience designing, planning, and managing data migration processes. 
• Experience collaborating with subject matter experts and project teams to identify, define, collate, document, and communicate data migration requirements. 
• Good consulting and communication skills. 
• Experience working with APIs and ETL tools to extract, transform, and load data to and from hybrid data sources. 

Desired Skillset:

• Data management and data pipeline implementation experience in Azure is highly desirable. 
• Experience working with a Cloud Service Provider (CSP) Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, or Data Bricks is highly desirable

Experience:

• 5+ years’ experience working as a DBA, Data Architect, Data Engineer, Data Strategist, or related role supporting data migrations. 

Education/Certification(s)

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Clearance Requirement

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
