Head of Security
- Full-time
- Position Type: Exempt
- Compensation: USD 165000 - USD 215000 - yearly
Company Description
We're partnering with Quant, a global leader in digital transformation and technology solutions, seeking an Head of Security to join their team.
Securing a chain platform that moves regulated money is not the same problem as securing an enterprise, and the people who have done both are rare. We are hiring someone to own it.
Job Description
Detection and response running continuously. The certificate and PKI lifecycle. Threat intelligence feeding the platform's protective controls. Transaction monitoring and on-chain analytics. And because most serious security events on a platform like this are also availability events, you would work alongside the reliability team during incidents rather than after them.
Much of the security model here is being established rather than inherited. You would be establishing it, and then proving it to people whose job is to find the gap.
You will need
- To have led security operations in financial services or another regulated industry.
- To have built or run a function with continuous coverage, and to know the difference between an alert and a signal.
- PKI and certificate lifecycle ownership at scale.
- To have produced evidence for a regulator. A great deal of this job is being able to prove what you did and why you took the action that you did.
Useful, not essential
- Blockchain analytics and on-chain transaction monitoring.
- Operating inside a client’s security tooling rather than your own.
- Digital asset custody or exchange security.
There is more to this than we can put in an advertisement. If it sounds like your kind of problem, apply and we will tell you the rest on a call.
Additional Information
About Quant:
Almost all the money in the economy is commercial bank money. Deposits, sitting on bank balance sheets, moving through payment systems designed decades before anyone had a reason to make money programmable. Almost none of it moves on chain.
Quant builds the infrastructure that changes that. Our technology lets a bank issue, move and settle its own money on programmable rails while staying connected to the systems it already runs on. That constraint is the reason this has taken as long as it has.
Central banks and commercial banks have built on our platform, including work on the digital pound and the digital euro. We are now building our team in New York.
