Job Description

The Commercial Pricing Analyst supports the development of competitive, profitable, and scalable commercial solutions by providing costing, pricing, financial modeling, and performance analysis. This role partners closely with internal teams (such as Sales, Finance, Operations, and Solution teams) to evaluate opportunities, develop pricing recommendations, and deliver insights that support growth and profitability objectives.

The Commercial Pricing Analyst is responsible for building and maintaining costing models, conducting profitability and scenario analyses, supporting commercial governance processes, and providing reporting and performance insights across the opportunity lifecycle. Through data-driven analysis and cross-functional collaboration, this role helps ensure commercial decisions are aligned with business goals, market conditions, and operational capabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain costing models with Finance that translate complex business assumptions into clear cost structures covering resources, delivery, technology, and operations.
  • Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis to uncover profitability opportunities, identify risks, and optimize performance.
  • Develop pricing strategies in partnership with Sales, Growth, and Solution teams to balance profitability, competitiveness, and growth objectives.
  • Maintain commercial benchmarks and assumptions using market data, client insights, and historical performance to ensure models remain accurate and relevant.
  • Analyze pricing effectiveness, margin trends, and cost-to-serve metrics to identify performance drivers, spot risks, and uncover growth opportunities.
  • Support deal reviews by validating pricing, profitability, and commercial assumptions before deals advance.
  • Maintain pricing standards, approval processes, and margin controls to ensure organizational alignment and compliance.
  • Bridge Finance, Delivery, and commercial teams to ensure costing models reflect operational reality and drive informed decision-making.
  • Streamline costing and pricing processes by developing tools, methodologies, and workflows that improve accuracy, speed, and scalability.
  • Develop dashboards and reports on deal performance, pricing trends, profitability, and compliance that translate complex data into actionable insights for business leaders.

 

Qualifications

Position Requirement

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Advanced coursework or certifications in financial modeling, pricing, analytics, or business intelligence preferred.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in commercial analysis, pricing, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), revenue operations, sales operations, business analytics, or related functions.
  • Experience developing financial models, business cases, costing frameworks, or pricing analyses.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional stakeholders including Sales, Finance, Operations, and business leaders.
  • Experience using data to support business decisions and drive commercial outcomes.

  • Pricing strategy and profitability analysis.
  • Deal desk or commercial approval processes.
  • Revenue, margin, and performance analytics.
  • Scenario modeling and forecasting.
  • CRM, reporting, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Salesforce, Power BI, Tableau).
