Job Description

The Safety Administrator supports the safety team and our districts to achieve safety excellence. This individual will have an extensive administrative background and possess strong computer and organizational skills.  A safety background would be considered a definite asset but is not required.

  • Provide administrative support to Safety Leaders including preparing presentations, gathering data and information and preparing reports for expenses, etc.
  • Gather the required documentation and information and upload them to ensure compliance with various 3rd party safety pre-qualification platforms
  • Update safety data as required by district and safety leaders on an ongoing basis and respond to data requests from Estimating and Pre-Construction teams
  • Demonstrate proficiency in safety management programs (e.g., Salus)
  • Provide all safety related documents, forms and permits as required for all new projects including Emergency Response Plans and OIS clinic maps
  • Update and revise Company Safety Manual and Policies as required
  • Facilitate and manage the collection, maintenance and accurate entry of safety training for all Chandos employees as required.
  • Perform, assist and facilitate new employee orientations as required
  • Support safety team with any work related injuries including working with HR, safety managers and employees on modified duties, be act as the main point of contact and liaise with 3rd party WCB claims manager as needed
  • Assist the Safety Team in preparing training manual and documents, newsletters, posters and any other publications as needed
  • Assist with scheduling on- and off-site meetings (in person and/or virtual) for the Safety Team.  Responsible for all logistics associated with those meetings.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressively-responsible administrative experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Teams).
  • Post secondary education.
  • Health and Safety Administrator (HSA) designation OR a degree or diploma in a related field an asset.
  • Excellent administrative and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of construction industry standards.
  • Strong verbal, written and computer skills.
  • Experience working with various stakeholders including executives.
