Project Lead, Youth Employment Fund
- Contract
- Contract type: Part time - fixed term
- Department: Corporate
- Service type: Corporate - Development
Company Description
Catch22 exists to help build a society where everyone has a good place to live, good people around them, and a fulfilling purpose. We call these our '3Ps'.
Catch22 supports people through education, employment, mental health and emotional support and social care services. We reach out to people in their communities and help them get the support they need. Last year we supported over 110,000 people across England and Wales to lead better lives.
We achieve this in two ways. First, we improve lives on the frontline through delivery of public services. Secondly, we use our knowledge to change 'the system', to fix the complex web that can trap and disempower those it was set up to help. With the heart of a charity and the mindset of a business, we are uniquely placed to deliver on this challenging agenda.
Job Description
Context
A rare opportunity to lead a ground-breaking partnership of impact-focused organisations that are developing a new model to support social ventures to tackle social challenges at scale.
Catch22 has been supporting social entrepreneurs with ideas that reimagine the delivery of public services as part of its reform agenda. From 2016 to 2020, we did this via our Incubate, Accelerate, Amplify programme. The programme supported eight award-winning social ventures including Offploy, Lighthouse and Unlocked Graduates and helped our ventures to unlock £21m in public sector contracts and investment.
Building on the learnings from this programme, we've designed a proposition to guide the future of our work social ventures in partnership with Hatch Enterprise and Social Tech Trust.
Together, we're launching a Youth Employment Fund and accelerator that will back organisations with proven tech-enabled solutions that tackle youth unemployment. We'll do this by helping them to grow their revenues and access new customers via public sector contracting opportunities. Revenues generated from these contracts will be used to unlock investment, helping to further scale their solutions. Earlier this year, we were backed by Big Society Capital via its Ideas for Impact programme which aims to support ideas that can tackle a social issue at scale.
You can read more about the thinking behind the Youth Employment Fund in this thread by Catch22's Head of Ventures and Innovation.
We're now looking for a consultant to help us further develop our proposition and secure funding that will enable us to deliver a pilot in 2022.

- Generate leads, build relationships, write proposals and deliver pitches.
- Evolve the proposition so that it is attuned to the needs of employability-focused ventures and individuals they are seeking to support, as well as wider market dynamics and funder interests.
- Manage relations with partners to ensure their ongoing support for - and involvement in - our work. You will:
- Engage with senior representatives from partners include Big Society Capital, Hatch Enterprise and Social Tech Trust. You'll unlock resources and ensure that partners have awareness and visibility of what they need to do to support us to deliver transformational impact.
- Represent and raise awareness of Youth Employment Fund. You will:
- Represent our partnership in public. When appropriate, you will produce and publish external content, and host and organise events that promote our aims.
