Job Description

Job Summary:

The Quality Services Project Manager is responsible for leading the execution, evaluation, and continuous improvement of Quality Systems within Carlisle Construction Materials. This role partners with manufacturing plants and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) is implemented effectively and operates in alignment with ISO 9001 and other applicable management system requirements. 

This position leads quality initiatives that improve process consistency, product conformance, complaint responsiveness, audit effectiveness, and overall plant quality performance. The role applies formal problem-solving methods, analytics, and quality tools to identify risks, drive corrective action, and improve business results. Depending on level, the position leads either plant- and function-level initiatives or broader multi-site efforts involving standardization, training, document control, and systemic quality improvement. 

The role requires strong collaboration with Operations, R&D, Engineering, Purchasing, and plant leadership to strengthen quality discipline, improve visibility to quality performance, and support sustainable corrective action across the business. 

This job will be Monday – Friday, with typical work hours of 8am – 5pm, though additional hours worked may be required. This job will require approximately 25% travel, or about once a month, to various plants.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring alignment with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards. 
  • Monitor, analyze, and report quality performance using dashboards, scorecards, and other reporting tools, including metrics such as product defects, customer complaints, CAPA completion, scrap, yield, deviations, supplier quality, and audit performance. 
  • Conduct regular reviews of quality performance with plant leadership and support follow-up actions to improve results. 
  • Manage the customer complaint process, including intake, evaluation, plant coordination, problem-solving support, best-practice sharing, and timely case closure. 
  • Partner with Operations, plant leadership, and other stakeholders to coordinate responses to field and plant quality issues using established complaint and escalation processes. 
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts using formal problem-solving methods such as PDCA, 5C, A3, and other structured quality tools. 
  • Perform quality and production data analysis to identify trends, prioritize improvement opportunities, and align action plans with Operations and other functional partners. 
  • Analyze process and product parameters to support consistent production performance and improved product quality. 
  • Apply statistical methods, including statistical process control and designed experiments, to support data-based decisions and improvement efforts. 
  • Reinforce Carlisle Operating System (COS) principles by integrating lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methods into quality improvement activities. 
  • Plan and perform internal quality audits at manufacturing plants, with focus on adherence to quality procedures, system effectiveness, and sustainment of corrective actions. 
  • Support or lead updates to quality manuals, aesthetics guides, procedures, and related documentation; communicate changes clearly to plant and functional stakeholders to ensure alignment. 
  • Deliver or coordinate training on QMS elements, quality procedures, and related standards for Operations and other business partners. 
  • Work closely with R&D, Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and other support functions to improve quality outcomes across the manufacturing process. 
  • Partner with Purchasing and relevant stakeholders to support quality performance of Purchased Finished Goods (PFG) or Supplier goods. 
  • Prepare routine and ad hoc status reports related to complaints, audits, corrective actions, quality initiatives, and plant performance. 
  • Build strong working relationships with plant quality leads, operations teams, and business stakeholders to understand needs and drive quality improvement. 
  • Lead or facilitate Quality Improvement Team meetings with manufacturing plant quality leads and cross-functional participants. 
  • Ensure Carlisle products and services meet internal requirements, customer requirements, and applicable legal, environmental, and quality standards.

Qualifications

 

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Working knowledge of quality systems, quality metrics, and continuous improvement methods 
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis and corrective action processes 
  • Basic understanding of lean manufacturing, quality principles, and process discipline 
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and build productive relationships with plant and business stakeholders 
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications and reporting tools 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on assignments in a timely manner 
  • Familiarity with Carlisle products, manufacturing processes, and field quality considerations is preferred

Education and Experience:

  • Required: 
    • At least 5 years of relevant experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance in manufacturing with Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field. 
    • Experience in a technical role within the manufacturing industry required. 
      • Equivalency: At least 7 years of relevant experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance in manufacturing with Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field 
  • Preferred: 
    • Two years of chemical process engineering experience is preferred.   
    • Experience in an ISO 9001 Quality Management System environment is preferred. 
    • Project Management skills preferred. 
    • Masters Degree is preferred  

Additional Information

Working Conditions:

  • Individual will operate primarily in an office setting in Carlisle, PA  

  • Individual will occasionally be in a plant environment where it may be dirt, dusty, and hotter/colder than office settings.  

Additional Information:

This position typically operates during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional flexibility may be required to accommodate meetings across time zones or address critical business needs. The employee is expected to comply with all company policies, including those related to data security, confidentiality, acceptable use of technology, and remote work standards. 

This position follows a hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the company’s flexible work arrangement policy and any site-specific guidelines. The employee is expected to adhere to their assigned onsite and hybrid schedule and maintain productivity, responsiveness, and collaboration whether working remotely or in the office. In-person participation may be required for team activities, meetings, or business-critical events. 

Periodic travel may be required for team meetings, training sessions, or company-sponsored events, with advance notice provided. Travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with the company’s travel and expense policy.
