REQUIREMENTS for Licensed Clinical Supervisor:

Education Required:

  • California state license (posts 2 years) in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapist with a graduate degree in psychology, social work, or counseling.
  • Completion of required Clinical Supervision Certification per BBS, if applicable.
  • At least five years of experience working in a behavioral health setting.
  • Valid California driver’s license.
  • First Aid Certified within 60 days of employment.
  • CPR Certified within 60 days of employment.

Desired:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with additional certification in Addiction Counseling.

Background Clearance Required:

  • Must not be on active parole or probation. We will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Essential Functions:

Supervision & Support:

  • Provide clinical supervision to staff and interns in youth and adult outpatient and residential behavioral health programs.
  • Facilitate individual and group clinical supervision sessions.

Compliance & Standards:

  • Ensure adherence to professional standards, licensing/certification requirements, and clinical grant obligations.
  • Maintain culturally proficient, client-centered services across San Mateo County programs

Training & Development:

  • Conduct regular on-site didactic trainings for employees and interns.
  • Research and recommend evidence-based practices (EBPs) and best practices.

Crisis & Emergency Response:

  • Be available after-hours to handle clinical emergencies, crises, or incidents requiring immediate attention.

Audits & Quality Assurance:

  • Act as the point of contact for clinical audits and address any related concerns.

Management & Leadership:

  • Participate in agency performance appraisals and clinical performance reviews per Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) standards.
  • Collaborate with Program Directors and Leadership Team in hiring and supervising new employees and interns.
  • Represent the San Mateo County Leadership Team to support organizational goals and initiatives.
