- Full-time
- Recruitment type: Fixed Term
Job Description
12 Month Contract
Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.
Hey, hello, hiya, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!
Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.
Where and how you can work
For this role, you'll be based out of Germany, putting you at the heart of one of Canva's most exciting European markets and closer to the ground across France, Germany and Spain. You'll work closely with colleagues across EMEA and the wider global comms team.
What you'd be doing in this role
As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. This will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
Leading communications across France, Germany and Spain: You'll own the strategy for three of Canva's biggest European markets, shaping the direction, setting the priorities, and driving a constant drumbeat of product, technology, corporate, and consumer news in these markets.
Building and managing strong media relationships: You’ll build relationships with reporters across France, Germany, and Spain, ensuring Canva remains top of mind and shows up in everyday conversation.
Managing local agency partners: You’ll manage agencies in Germany and Spain, setting the direction, reviewing work, and guiding them to deliver exceptional results that drive awareness, trust, and growth for Canva.
Building and supporting a bench of local spokespeople: You'll build strong thought leadership platforms for Canva leaders across Europe, and you’ll manage briefing and preparing them ahead of media interviews and events.
Partnering cross-functionally: You'll work closely with local sales leaders, growth managers, and partnership teams to ensure communications activity supports our broader business goals.
Connecting global and local narratives: You'll serve as the crucial link between Canva's global and local communications teams, ensuring our story is consistent, culturally relevant, and maintains momentum across France, Germany, and Spain year-round.
You're probably a match if you have:
Extensive communications experience across European markets, ideally France, Germany and Spain, with a track record of securing top-tier coverage and managing local agency partners.
Exceptional media relations skills, with an established network of journalist contacts and the confidence to build relationships with senior reporters, editors, and industry influencers.
Experience developing and executing integrated communications strategies that span product, corporate, executive, and consumer storytelling.
Strong B2B and AI communications experience, with the ability to translate complex narratives into compelling, locally relevant stories.
The ability to operate across multiple markets simultaneously, balancing competing priorities without losing sight of the bigger picture.
Pace, ownership and autonomy: you're comfortable in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and don't wait for direction to move.
French language skills strongly preferred; German or Spanish an advantage
