Alongside our global campuses, we also collaborate with talented contractors and freelancers from all over the world to help us achieve our crazy big goals. While we support flexible, remote-friendly ways of working, for this role we’re focusing on Sydney so we can best support our teams and keep collaboration flowing.
This role is a 6-month engagement, working up to 40 hours per week.
What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve. As a Digital Copywriter, you’ll own the copy creation and iteration process for Canva’s highest-impact landing pages — from brief to launch to optimization. Your copy will support campaigns like:
At the moment, this role is focused on:
- Write high-converting, brand-aligned landing page copy across Canva’s major product, event, and education campaigns and landing pages.
- Translate campaign goals, briefs, and audience insights into clear, actionable messaging that drives understanding and action.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure seamless integration of copy with design and UX.
- Use data and testing insights to iterate copy and improve performance (CTR, CVR, bounce rate).
- Maintain content standards through strong adherence to Canva’s voice, accessibility, and SEO guidelines.
- Manage multiple page projects simultaneously while maintaining speed and quality.
You're probably a match if
- Have 2–4+ years of experience as a website or digital copywriter (in-house or agency).
- Know how to turn a brief into persuasive, UX-optimized landing page copy.
- Can balance storytelling with clarity and performance metrics.
- Are comfortable working with structured content templates and content systems.
- Collaborate well with designers, PMs, marketers, and engineers.
- Write for global audiences and understand localization/internationalization nuance.
- Give and receive feedback constructively and know how to defend strong writing decisions.
- Have excellent grammar, attention to detail, and adherence to brand voice guidelines.
Nice to have:
- Experience with CMS platforms.
- Familiarity with experimentation tools.
- Comfort using AI-assisted content tools to scale output or ideate.
About the team
The Marketing Technology (MarTech) group empowers Canva’s marketing teams to accelerate output, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making. Within the MarTech Experience sub-group, we build and optimize user journeys that power major global campaigns.
You’ll work alongside designers, marketers, and content strategists to make every landing page both beautiful and effective, merging UX thinking with storytelling craft.
