Job Description
Like dogs? Cats? Life-saving medicines and therapies? Okay, that last one came out of nowhere, but each of them depends on the groundbreaking work we do at CRB. And we want you to help tell that story.
As our Social Media Specialist, you’ll join our Strategic Communications team and bring your engaging, authoritative, and occasionally playful writing style to help shape and advance CRB’s public voice. We’re a growing engineering, architecture, construction and consulting company, helping life sciences companies design and build vaccine and therapy manufacturing facilities. We also partner with leading food and beverage brands to design and build facilities that make many of consumable goods enjoyed by millions of Americans (and dogs and cats), every day.
Our clients are active on social media, and so are their audiences. You’ll guide how CRB shows up on those platforms, translating complex and technical work into clear, compelling stories that build trust, credibility, and connection.
Know when to be serious? When to go light? When to definitely not hit “publish” on your worst engineer joke? Your instincts and judgment will help bring our marketing and communications strategies to life. You’ll also use social listening tools to monitor CRB’s reputation, spot opportunities, and find smart, creative ways to share our story with key audiences and influencers.
This role is more than posting clever copy on LinkedIn. You’ll also:
- Work with our Strategic Marketing colleagues to support campaign strategy – organic and paid social –- from the ground up, shaping the who, what, when, where, and why behind how we communicate our value proposition, project wins, and technical authority.
- Work with our talented graphic designers to conceptualize the use of video and animation to stop the scroll and bring our work to life.
- Explore opportunities to expand and strengthen CRB’s presence across multiple social platforms.
- Investigate the value, and possibly champion, an employee advocacy program—because you understand the power of activating highly connected subject matter experts.
- Above all else, you’ll appreciate that one of CRB’s core values is Fun. We put real weight behind loving your work and supporting your well-being. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
Here’s how you’ll put those skills to work:
- Develop and execute CRB’s voice across social media channels.
- Strengthen CRB’s brand presence and thought leadership in core and emerging markets.
- Plan and manage the company’s social media calendar.
- Grow engagement, followers, and influence across key platforms.
- Create and execute social media campaigns independently and in collaboration with marketing and communications partners.
- Measure what matters, using metrics and benchmarks to show impact, identify opportunities, and continuously improve.
- Revise and regularly update our social media guidelines, setting our voice, best practices and other guidance for the team and stakeholders.
Personal Attributes
- Build strong, collaborative relationships across the organization.
- Establish trusted working relationships with subject matter experts.
- Represent yourself and CRB with professionalism and confidence.
- Be a self-starter who’s action-oriented, curious, and resourceful.
Qualifications
You knew there’d be some fine print. Here it is.
We’re looking for someone with:
- A college degree in Journalism, Communications, Strategic Communications, or a related field. Related work experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
- 3+ years of experience with increasing responsibility in social media strategy and execution, or content marketing – ideally in a technical B2B environment.
- A strong understanding of LinkedIn, including company pages, careers pages, Campaign Manager, and other often-overlooked features critical to talent attraction.
- Experience creating and executing short and long-term social media campaigns.
- Experience working with graphic designers to conceptualize and build graphics/animations that catch readers.
- Deep knowledge of social media best practices, including timing, frequency, analytics, listening tools, employee advocacy, and influencer engagement.
- A natural storytelling instinct, with the ability to write in a conversational, confident, and sometimes playful tone that differentiates CRB in a crowded marketplace.
- Excellent copy-editing skills and a sharp eye for detail.
- Experience working across owned and earned channels in complex communications environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with sound judgment.
- The ability to communicate clearly and comfortably with partners at all levels.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social execution/listening tools such as Cision, Meltwater, HubSpot, or similar platforms.
- Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite templates for self-service on various social graphics.
