Job Description
The CIMA+ offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects that you will have the ability to shape and be a part of. We have an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Mechanical Engineer who will join our Industrial / Mining Team. In collaboration with the Energy and Resources team, this role will be called upon to assume responsibility for a multitude of multidisciplinary projects primarily in the Heavy Industrial and Mining sectors. Initially this position will be taking a development role in the design of materials handling, mechanical, process and piping projects across Western Canada. This role can be located in any of our Western Canada offices across BC, AB and SK
These skills combined with excellent business acumen will be key in growing our Western Canadian team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Participate and produce various deliverables in line with the project needs;
- Developing and producing design deliverables on a variety of industrial projects
- Work in multidisciplinary project teams, produce and sign off deliverables;
- Work with the department Lead to pursue new business opportunities with new and/or existing clients
- Assist stakeholders in proposal writing and fee estimates
- Collaboratively support business/operations through sound management of value, risk, content, communication, knowledge & resources
- Provide expertise in brownfield and sustaining projects
- Ensuring compliance to Health & Safety, as well as all other regulations & policies
- Development & implementation of budgets
- Partake to site surveys
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
- 7+ years of completing Engineering design work in the Mining sector
- P.Eng designation or eligible to become a P.Eng within Canada is an asset
- Proven organizational, analytical & problem-solving skills;
- Able to multi-task, meet deadlines, self-motivate, and adapt to change;
- Excellent Communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels.
- Experience with metal / mineral processing plants, piping, cooling systems, compression, mining operations, conveyance systems and / or pressure vessels is considered an asset
