The Senior Project Manager, Mining Engineer will be called upon to work on various mining projects including both green field and brown field development and maintenance. Projects are often in a variety of stages, such as planning and construction, capital maintenance, mine expansion and others.
In this role you will be able to be based out of one of our offices in western Canada, and you may also have the possibility of working from home on a hybrid basis.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and manage project teams through all phases of project planning, design, construction, and commissioning of mining projects.
- Be supported by technical experts from multiple disciplines in our Mining group including structural, electrical, mechanical, process, and civil to successfully deliver projects.
- Manage project resources, schedule, budget, quality management and project risk assessment on behalf of CIMA+ to meet client expectations.
- Prepare and supervise engineering studies, environmental assessments, reports, calculations, plans and contract documents, cost estimates, and construction documents.
- Lead and assist in the pursuit of new projects, including the development of technical scope workplans, schedule, project team organization, and task-level budgets.
- Build relationships with existing and potential clients; liase with clients, consultants, regulatory and utility agencies, project stakeholders and contractors.
- Coordinate and mentor intermediate and junior staff on fundamentals of project delivery and general project management skills in the mining sector.
- Write and check technical reports and contribute to the development of plans and specifications
- Participate in the preparation of service agreements
Qualifications
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Chemical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in British Columbia.
- Minimum 12 years of directly applicable Mining experience in working in engineering or project management roles, with a focus on Western Canada.
- Demonstrated success and expertise in the mining industry from project planning and design through to completion.
- Proven experience in managing project teams on small, medium, and large consulting projects.
- Proven track record of successful business development, and of fostering client relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
The expected salary for this position is from $122,000 to $160,000 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
