CEDA's Sarnia location is a unionized operation and as such, candidates applying to this position will be enrolled in the International Union of Operating Engineers local 793 after completing 1040 hours.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist with the cleaning of the client’s process lines to ensure their quality specifications have been met for their finished products.
• Work safely at heights or within confined spaces in a labor intensive capacity
• Ensure safety for all team members and yourself
• Work as part of a team and follow direction from supervision and client quality control specialist.
• Work will be completed indoors 365 days per year and will require shift work
• Complete minor maintenance and checks on client equipment as needed
• Learn new skills every day by assisting the client to complete product changes through the  cleaning of the lines
• Complete required paperwork for your daily tasks which may include job reports and safety documents
• Challenge your eye for detail, practice what we preach. Take your time, get the job done right the first time and safely every time
• Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications

• 1+ years’ experience in an industrial environment is an asset but not required
• Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Shift work will be required - 4 days on 4 days off schedule
• There will be opportunity for OT based on client requirements
• Double time will be paid on all weekends and stat holidays
• Shift schedules will cover 365 days per year
• Further hours with be available during turnaround season at other client sites

Skills:

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
• Experience and comfort with confined spaces
• Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
• Comfortable with the use of additional respiratory equipment and air supply- As needed only
• You’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely
