Job Description
CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a highly skilled IT Director with experience working in game development to join our newly opened Boston office and support our future projects. In this role, you will oversee IT operations for our North America region, building and leading a high-performing team to ensure that all technology infrastructure and services meet the evolving demands of our teams. Your expertise in game development, especially in managing the complexities of multiplayer systems, will be essential as you create scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure.
You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders to establish and maintain robust IT operations, aligned with our headquarters in Poland. Through your leadership, you’ll drive technological innovation, ensuring our IT capabilities fully support our ambitious goals for the next generation of exceptional games.
Daily responsibilities
- Define and execute IT strategies that align with business objectives and drive long-term growth.
- Build and scale high-performing IT teams that deliver efficient, organisation-wide technology solutions.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire your teams to foster innovation and proactive problem-solving.
- Develop and manage the budget to ensure cost-effective resource allocation and strategic investments.
- Cross-department collaboration to align IT strategies with business goals and optimise operations.
- Oversee the planning, maintenance, and security of IT infrastructure, optimising vendor relationships and costs.
- Use data analytics to track IT performance, resolve issues, and refine technology strategies based on business needs.
- Review key IT projects, ensuring they meet quality standards and drive operational and strategic success.
- Stay updated on trends and technologies to drive innovation and enhance IT processes and competitiveness.
- Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and security standards.
- Advocate for the department’s role in driving innovation and business growth through technology solutions.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience as an IT Director within the video game industry.
- Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with a track record of mentoring as an IT Director or similar role.
- Strong technical expertise in various IT domains, including infrastructure, software and licence management, cybersecurity, and public cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
- Demonstrated experience with large-scale online services, including multiplayer games.
- In-depth knowledge of IT systems, network architecture, software, and cloud environments (AWS/GCP).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts effectively for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in Agile task and project management, with a focus on adaptability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Creative and strategic thinking, with the ability to solve technical challenges and drive technological innovation.
- Strong understanding of the video game development process and relevant technology stacks (e.g., Perforce).
