Job Description

BryceTech is seeking a senior engineer to join our team who can deliver policy, technical, and processes improvements to government space technology research and development (R&D) and demonstration programs. The position specifically supports NASA’s Small Spacecraft Technology (SST) and Flight Opportunities (FO) Programs within the agency’s Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD). Work will support NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC, but may be performed remotely. Regardless of primary workstation, regular travel will be required for this position.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

  • Work with the SST/FO Program Executive and other program personnel
  • Provide recommendations to tailor NASA R&D program and project management requirements to reduce time to flight with an appropriate risk profile
  • Coordinate with Senior NASA personnel at centers and headquarters to build consensus on tailored requirements
  • Systematically identify, recommend, and execute improvements to program policies and processes
  •  Areas for improvement may include, but are not limited to:
    • Technology project acquisition
    • Program and project performance management
    • Design and conduct pilot studies/impact evaluations, as needed
    • Document program processes and policies
    • Support strategy, management, and integration operations

Qualifications

  • US Citizenship
  • Space flight project or program management experience
  • Experience with risk-tolerant or iterative approaches to space technology R&D and demonstration
  • Familiarity with common SST mission elements, such as spectrum licensing, orbital debris assessments, and launch safety documentation
  • Masters in relevant field
  • 18 years relevant work experience
