POSITION SUMMARY

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer. The incumbent is also responsible for assisting in the performance of the following types of maintenance work: carpentry, plumbing, painting and mechanical.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.

2. Adheres to all regulations established by the Indiana Gaming Commission, ABS and other applicable agencies pertaining to building maintenance riverboat gaming and vessel operations.

3. Adheres to the policies and procedures established by Belterra Casino Resort.

4. Supports Response Team in the performance of fire, safety, and emergency procedures of the casino to ensure the safety of passengers, employees and property.

5. Keeps workshop orderly by cleaning tool boxes, putting away tools and parts, and straightening electrical storage area.

6. Assists in building interface or accessory equipment as needed.

7. Responds to customer requests for maintenance assistance in order to provide courteous, timely and expert service.

8. Repairs and installs structural woodwork and equipment; assists in preparing wall surface for painting and wall covering, in order to ensure proper operation of all equipment according to established schedules and department standards.

9. Assists in the maintenance and repair of all structural and mechanical systems on the boat and in the facility.

10. Installs and maintains all tile, marble floor materials, carpet, and carpet tiles.

11. Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• This position operates in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, and vibration. Proper precautions are taken.

• Subject to varying levels of noise, crowds and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume.

• Required to work in elevated places inside and outside of the building and in enclosed areas.

• At times subjected to hazards such as the dangers associated with the use of basic hand and power tools, and testing equipment.

• Occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is provided.

• Ability to use all equipment associated with the position.

• Able to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.

• Ability to effectively and efficiently move around work areas.

• Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.

• Equipment and machines used includes basic hand tools.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of materials and installation techniques related to carpet, carpet tiles, stone flooring materials, and hardwood floors.
• Knowledge of property layout, including sprinklers risers.
These skills and abilities necessary are typically acquired through the completion of a high school education.
