Job Description
The Night Auditor is responsible for completing end-of-day financial reconciliation, verifying Hotel Clerk transactions, and ensuring accurate posting of room charges and applicable taxes. This position plays a critical role in maximizing occupancy by collaborating with Hosts to fill remaining vacant rooms and coordinating with Marketing and Player Development on special event reservations. The Night Auditor serves as a primary point of contact for guest inquiries and concerns during overnight hours.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Audit and verify Hotel Clerk transactions to ensure compliance with established procedures and accuracy of all postings
- Post room charges and applicable taxes for all occupied rooms and close the hotel day in the property management system
- Analyze hotel availability and collaborate with Hosts to optimize room occupancy through strategic room assignments
- Access and utilize LMS, RMS, and CMS systems to make informed decisions regarding complimentary, discounted, and full-rate room assignments
- Communicate with Executive Hosts regarding guest stays, special requests, and room status updates
- Partner with Marketing, Player Development, and Food & Beverage departments to facilitate reservations for special events, gaming tournaments, parties, and food outlet services
- Respond to guest inquiries regarding hotel amenities, casino operations, and community information with professionalism and accuracy
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of room rates, room types, availability, hotel policies, and operational procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic accounting principles, including the ability to accurately perform addition, subtraction, and account auditing functions
- Proven experience handling monetary transactions with strict adherence to established financial procedures and controls
- Proficiency in operating property management systems, including LMS (Loyalty Management System), CMS (Content Management System), and RMS (Revenue Management System)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and reconcile discrepancies in financial records
- Knowledge of credit card processing and electronic draft capture systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain all certifications and licenses required by local gaming regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in hotel operations, front desk, or hospitality accounting roles
- Familiarity with gaming or casino industry operations and compliance requirements
