Job Description
Team members assigned to Suncoast BarSC are responsible for all job duties, requirements, and expectations listed in the standard Bartender job description, as well as the additional BarSC expectations listed below.
Receive and prepare beverage orders from customers and cocktail servers
- Mix alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to memorized standard beverage recipes.
- Serve beverages, using repetitive motions, in accordance with established service procedures.
- Operate cash register, complete transactions according to procedures, and maintain accurate bank.
- Maintain cleanliness of bar area by removing used glasses, napkins, emptying ashtrays, and wiping bar top.
- Greet and communicate with guests in a friendly, courteous manner.
- Prepare written requisitions and orders for bar stock.
- Maintain and replenish ice supply.
BarSC Assignment Expectations
- Deliver an elevated beverage experience at BarSC, the centerpiece of the renovated casino floor and a primary first impression for guests entering through the main doors.
- Maintain a polished, confident, high-energy presence that reflects Boyd Style hospitality and the visibility of the BarSC environment.
- Own the guest experience across the bar and surrounding lounge area by actively anticipating needs, managing pace, and maintaining service flow.
Elevated Beverage and Service Standards
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits, including flavor profiles, production methods, legal designations, history, and appropriate upselling opportunities.
- Prepare craft cocktails to exact specifications, including measured pours, proper glassware, complex garnishes, beverage presentation, and appropriate showmanship.
- Step out from behind the bar when needed to engage guests, service tables, support the lounge experience, and ensure there is no breakdown in guest service.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all BarSC beverage menu items, daily specials, recipes, ingredients, preparation standards, and service expectations.
Program Support and Qualification Standards
- Serve as a subject matter resource for beverage quality, presentation, consistency, and service standards, including informal coaching or guidance to other bartenders as directed.
- Support cocktail development, menu enhancements, garnish standards, and presentation standards that continue to elevate the BarSC guest experience.
- Understand and meet BarSC sequence of service expectations, including service standards for the bar, lounge, and surrounding guest areas.
- Minimum of twelve (12) months bartending experience in a high-volume front bar, service bar, and/or fine dining environment is expected for this assignment.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 40 pounds as part of the BarSC assignment.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Previous experience as a bartender preferred.
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Must be able to stand and walk for duration of shift.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.
