Make your mark as 1st Mate SDPO at Boskalis Offshore Energy on board of our Cable Laying Vessels!

Boskalis' cable laying fleet includes state of the art vessels like the Ndurance and Ndeavor, which are equipped with dynamic positioning systems and high-tech cable laying equipment. 
As a 1st Mate SDPO you will have the opportunity to work onboard of one of these vessels. As a key member of our crew, you will play a crucial role in executing complex cable installation projects worldwide.

Your responsibilities as 1st Mate SDPO

• Ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel on deck duty during the watch. Understanding and ensuring compliance with relevant company’s  guidelines and procedures.
• Manually control the vessel - manoeuver the vessel in port and where ever necessary - navigate the vessel under all circumstances.
• Competence for navigational watches is in accordance with the requirements of the STCW Code.
• Supervising all bridge operations and participating in all project operations on board.
• Good awareness of all circumstances that may affect the vessel operations.
• Ensuring timely and effective communication with relevant stakeholders and crewmembers during the watch.
• Assisting Master and Chief Engineer in achieving the objectives and targets assigned to the vessel on environmental aspects.

Your qualities and experience

You can move ahead as 1st Mate SDPO if you have:

• At least 1 years’ relevant work experience as 1st Mate SDPO.
• Experience working on board of Cable laying vessels.
• DP certificate issued by the NI, NMD or an accredited equivalent.
• Hold Certificate of Competence in accordance with the requirements of STCW code.
• Valid seafarers medical certificate.
• A good command of written and spoken English.

• Your team: you will work in multinational teams on board, around the world. You report to the Master SDPO.
• Full/part-time job:  The function of 1st Mate SDPO is full time job. Working schedule is 4 weeks on/off for the projects in Europe and 6 weeks on/off for the projects outside of Europe.
