Job Description
As a Sales Manager you will manage 3-4 complex, multi-national automotive Tier1 accounts (key account management) with global decision centers, focusing on measurement/calibration, embedded software and security/diagnostics portfolio for intelligent and connected vehicles and requiring coordination across regional sales teams, technical experts, and executive stakeholders in Europe, Asia, and North America. You will take full strategic ownership for sustainable, global revenue growth and long-term account development across multiple business units and regions, directly influencing portfolio direction and customer engagement strategies. You will develop and execute sales strategies, manage sales and order acquisition activities and collaborate closely with internal and external international stakeholders to drive cross-portfolio business growth at the assigned accounts.
The role is a largely client-facing role which requires you to work on both strategic long term and short-term plans and projects. You will need to build strong relationships with clients on various levels as well as acquire thorough knowledge about their business. You will need to present technical and commercial solutions.
Key Activities
- Autonomously define and execute global customer strategies with full commercial and operational responsibility, based on regional account strategy
- Track and achieve financial targets and strategic objectives
- Establish strong and productive relationships with clients at various levels
- Steer the commitment of all internal stakeholders to meet account performance objectives and customer expectations
- Proactively evaluate, clarify, and validate customer needs on a regular basis
- Lead the identification and co-creation of innovative, cross-portfolio solutions
- Work closely with Customer Service to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution
- Identify and evaluate business opportunities
- Occasionally support account management in internal business planning and controlling activities
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in automotive sales, key account management or technical business development
- Degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science) or Business (e.g., International Business, Marketing), or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of ETAS´ portfolio/position and target industry
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to develop deep understanding of the client business and needs, then craft solutions to help grow the account
- Ability to qualify leads, address objections and close deals
- Strong intrinsic motivation to drive business and increase ETAS´ footprint at assigned customers
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in both German and English.
- Willingness to travel (2–3 days per week) for customer engagement and project coordination
