PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction began in May 2021, and first series of production commenced in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.

Job Description

  • Analyze manufacturing and production workflows to identify bottlenecks and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using methodologies such as the 5 Whys and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring issues.
  • Monitor and analyze key production performance indicators, including yield, cycle time, scrap rate, equipment downtime, and overall operational effectiveness.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and support the implementation of new equipment, tooling, and automation solutions to improve productivity and quality.
  • Perform process capability studies and apply statistical analysis techniques to assess and enhance process performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements within the production environment.
  • Manage and execute the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring effective integration into production operations.
  • Own and administer employee training and competency management through the TQS (Training Qualification System), ensuring workforce qualifications remain current and compliant.
  • Monitor and maintain production inventory levels, including hold lots and work-in-process inventory, to support uninterrupted production while minimizing excess stock.
  • Develop, maintain, and own production dashboards, providing accurate reporting and data driven insights to support operational decision-making and performance management.
  • Plan and coordinate equipment installation, relocation, commissioning, and production line setup activities.
  • Define machine layouts, production floor demarcation, workstation arrangements, and material flow strategies to maximize productivity and safety.
  • Coordinate with movers, contractors, suppliers, facilities, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful execution of manufacturing expansion and relocation projects.
  • Develop project schedules and implementation plans for manufacturing equipment, tooling, and infrastructure deployment.
  • Ensure production readiness through effective planning of manpower, training, equipment, materials, and facility requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, etc.)
  • 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience in relevant engineering functions.
