Job Description

SUMMARY

To provide guidance and support to all operators with in assigned manufacturing line and ensure that line is operating effectively and efficiently.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform daily LPA audits and quality checks as required
  • Assist with troubleshooting of line issues and elevate to maintenance and supervisor as required.
  • Maintain tooling & fixtures as appropriate.
  • Support daily production plan
  • Assist in the implementation of new programs, processes, and tooling trials.
  • Support continuous improvement activities including safety, quality and productivity for all manufacturing lines
  • Delegate labor to work stations on the line and ensure compliance with work instructions and control plans
  • Ensure documentation of work center training on appropriate form and accurate maintenance of training matrix for assigned assembly lines
  • Ensure assignment of labor consistent with documented operator training (assignments should be in line with training forms and training matrix)
  • Support enforcement of company policies and employee handbook
  • Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety policies
  • Must be able to read and understand prints to ensure quality of product
  • Assist in changeover of machines
  • Must be able to read different measuring devices and gages

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent

One to five years experience in manufacturing and/or assembly operations.  Prior experience in machining operations a plus.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS and ABILITIES

 

Language Skills:

  • Basic language skills required

 

Mathematical Skills:

  • High school math skills required

 

Reasoning Ability:

  • Individual must have ability to make independent decisions that may be of a complex nature. 

 

Computer Skills:

  • Must have Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software packages.  Must be capable of learning other software packages (SAP, Axalant, etc). 

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Certifications in machining operations a plus

 

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Individual must possess the interpersonal skills communicate with coworkers.

 

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

The ability to work in a manufacturing assembly environment.  The positions requires the ability to stand/walk for up to 4 hours at a time, repetitively bend, twist, grasp and lift up to 45 pounds. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel, reach with arms and hands. Vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision.
