Job Description

The selected candidate will join the Machining Department within the Manufacturing organization and will support the team in the planning and management of consumable cutting tools used in machining processes.

The main objective of the internship project is to develop a structured forecasting and procurement process for cutting tools, based on sales forecasts and production requirements, with the aim of optimizing inventory levels, ensuring material availability, and reducing the risk of shortages or overstocking.

Main Responsibilities

  • Analyze historical consumption data of cutting tools used in machining operations.
  • Collect and interpret sales forecasts and production plans.
  • Map the relationship between finished products, manufacturing processes, and tool consumption.
  • Develop forecasting models to estimate cutting tool requirements.
  • Support the definition of replenishment policies and inventory management strategies.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Industrial Engineering teams.
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to tool consumption, inventory levels, and material availability.
  • Identify and propose improvement actions to enhance the efficiency of the procurement and planning process.

Internship Project Objectives

At the end of the internship, the candidate will have contributed to the development of a planning system for consumable cutting tools capable of:

  • Forecasting tool demand based on sales projections.
  • Optimizing inventory levels.
  • Improving production continuity and material availability.
  • Supporting purchasing decisions through structured data analysis and forecasting methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in manufacturing processes and production planning.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and data analysis tools is considered a plus.
