Job Description
For the Comfort Actuator business unit (CA), we are seeking an experienced Platform Project Manager (PjM).
In this key role, you will be responsible for the on-time, on-cost, and quality-driven development of CA drives (motor, gear box, incl. PCBA), e.g., window lift drives, seat drives, steering column adjustment drives, sunroofs, or others.You will lead an interdisciplinary team, coordinate closely with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, controlling, and external partners, manage complex interface alignments, and provide regular reporting to management, ensuring the success of our modular drive platforms.
Main Tasks:
1) Lead Cross-Functional Development Teams:
coordinate SE-Teams including mechanical design, electronics, software, testing, process development, production, and quality assurance throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Facilitate collaboration to ensure all technical domains align with platform objectives.
2) Ensure "On Spec, On Time, On Cost, On Quality" Delivery
Drive project to meet technical specifications, development costs, product costs, schedule, and quality requirements.
Monitor work packages to ensure timely design freeze, sample delivery, and SOP
3) Lead Design to Cost
Actively manage product target cost achievement in each sample phase through systematic DTC investigations
Balance performance requirements with cost optimization for platform competitiveness
4) Plan and Control Development Budget
Define project milestones based on upper-level requirements and track development expenses
5) Manage Requirements and Technical Changes
Evaluate (in collaboration with the Product-Area-Owner) the market trends (Input from product manager and sales), customer specifications, platform requirements, and legal regulations.
Lead requirement engineering and change management processes to ensure all internal and external needs are properly implemented
6) Mitigate Risks and Solve Complex Problems
Identify technical and commercial risks early, implementing mitigation strategies
Lead problem-solving initiatives when technical challenges arise during development
7) Serve as Key Interface to Stakeholders
Act as the primary contact between engineering, sales, purchasing, product management, controlling, and customers
Represent the project in steering committees up to product area management and GP level
8) Ensure Development Process Compliance
Maintain adherence to Bosch's development process and quality standards
Drive platform reuse strategies; developing modular solutions that can be adapted across multiple customer applications (window lift, seat adjustment, steering column, sunroof) to maximize engineering efficiency
Qualifications
1) Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics or comparable technical field
1) Engineering foundation in mechanical development and basic electronics/PCBA
2) Project management methodologies (PMP, Agile) with full lifecycle experience
3) Automotive quality standards and methods (FMEA, DFMA, ASPICE, ISO/TS)
4) Risk and change management, including requirement change coordination and estimation
Competencies
5) Cross-functional and global coordination across manufacturing, quality, purchasing, controlling, and external partners
6) Stakeholder and customer management as primary interface between internal teams, customers, and management
7) Strong communication and reporting skills, including regular management updates in Chinees & English
8) Strategic, results-oriented mindset focused on on-time, on-cost, on-quality delivery Skills
9) moderation skills to align diverse stakeholders (engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, external partners) and resolve conflicts effectively
10) High resilience and adaptability to manage changing requirements, tight deadlines, and complex technical challenges in a fast-paced automotive environment
11) Team leadership and empathy to motivate cross-functional teams without formal disciplinary authority and foster a collaborative, solution-oriented culture
