Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Software Architect to lead and support safety engineering activities across the product development lifecycle, with a strong focus on Occupant Safety Systems (OSS - Air Bags), safety analysis, and customer-facing project execution.

In this role, you will work closely with OEM customers, project teams, and cross-functional engineering stakeholders to drive ISO 26262-compliant safety activities, develop key safety work products, and support successful project delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who combines deep technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform requirements engineering, including development and review of requirements.
  • Develop and review High-Level Design (HLD).
  • Review Low-Level Design (LLD).
  • Review system and software test specifications.
  • Communicate software architecture, design decisions, and updates to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyze potential non-compliance with dependability requirements.
  • Determine, implement, and verify compliance with dependability requirements.
  • Participate in CCR (Change/Customer Change Request) estimation along with the Project Manager (PM).
  • Moderate Change Control Board (CCB) meetings and identify impacted software components and test scope.
  • Mentor Software Leads, Software Engineers, and Test Teams to meet project and future program needs.
  • Define, implement, and verify dependability and safety-related software requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive software quality processes and standards.
  • Support software architecture reviews with respect to reliability, maintainability, and robustness.

Technical Skills & Expertise

  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience in embedded systems with Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) exposure.
  • Hands-on experience in Automotive Software Development using C language.
  • Strong knowledge of requirements engineering with the ability to deep dive into technical topics.
  • Good understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Strong embedded systems knowledge.
  • Exposure to Model-Based Software Development.
  • Experience in Problem and Change Request Management.
  • Ability to analyze software impact and define appropriate test scope.
  • Support project estimation, planning, and technical risk assessment
  • Drive complex debugging, root cause analysis, and issue resolution. Good exposure to systematic methodology like DRBFM

  • Excellent communication, mentoring, training, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with related automotive standards and development frameworks such as ISO 26262, ASPICE, and broader OSS verification and validation practices.
  • Exposure to advanced technologies, including GenAI, to support automation in safety methods and engineering processes.
  • Relevant functional safety training, certifications, or assessment experience would be an advantage.

B.Tech/M.Tech: Circuit branch , BE (E&C or E&E or Instrumentation) or higher

Additional Information

>10 years overall (SW Architect >2 years) 10–15 years of relevant work experience.
