Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Product Validation Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the testing, validation, and quality assurance of advanced automotive systems, with a primary focus on brake actuation and medium & heavy-duty truck foundation brake products. This role is critical in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability.
Job Description
Testing, Validation, and Prototypes:
- Perform hands-on functional performance, misuse, environmental, durability and NVH validation testing in a lab environment.
- Follow and execute test plans and procedures to validate product performance against design specifications and regulatory standards.
- Set-up and operate test equipment, including data acquisition systems, sensors, and diagnostic tools.
- Complete testing in a timely manner per an agreed upon schedule.
- Build prototype samples to support new projects and validation testing.
Troubleshooting, Analysis, and Continuous Improvement:
- Proactively identify product and equipment abnormalities, report them to the team, and as necessary aid in the resolution of the issue.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and software issues identified during testing. Follow through on issue resolution.
- Analyze test data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
- Document and report all test results, findings, discrepancies, and failures with clear and concise details.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement related to the lab facilities, test equipment, and work processes.
Quality and Compliance:
- Ensure all testing and validation activities comply with internal quality standards and industry regulations.
- Perform quality checks on components and assemblies to ensure that they meet specifications.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Associate's degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE) are a strong plus.
Experience:
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in an automotive technician, testing, or validation role, or similar experience.
- Direct experience with brake actuation and/or medium & heavy-duty truck foundation brake systems is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and electronic control systems is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with diagnostic and data acquisition tools (DaisyLab, Lab View, etc…) is desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics and mechanical drawings is a plus.
- Familiarity with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing methodologies is a plus.
- Basic machine shop skills (lathe, mill, general fabrication).
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc…).
- Familiarity with quality systems such as IATF16949 and ISO9001.

- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
