Job Description

Summary

  • Provides leadership and management oversight for the plant controlling organization
  • Establishes, or recommends to management, economic strategies, objectives, and policies for company to drive financial and manufacturing performance
  • Directs and oversees plant target business plan (BP) / forecast (CF) / month end (MBR) / year end closing (YEC) / cost variance analysis
  • Derives and steers measures to improve plant cost performance and achieve plant value added cost target short term and long term
  • Develops performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
  • Participates in key decisions as a member of the plant leadership team executive management team
  • Maintains in-depth relations with all members of the management team
  • Assists in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
  • Serves as financial leader for the implementation of lean manufacturing / value stream management
  • Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations
  • Manages the capital request and budgeting processes
  • Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification
  • Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities
  • Advises management on desirable operational adjustments based on analysis of actual cost performance data
  • Ensures that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
  • Risk Management including reporting risk issues to the appropriate departments
  • Oversees inventory management and is business partner for the operational teams on inventory accuracy improvement
  • Reviews and oversees plant cost calculation for business acquisitions (CPE) to ensure quality
  • Continuously improve plant controlling, accounting, and reporting process including digitalization
  • Supports our Mexican plant (QueP) as regional lead plant and fosters collaboration between the plants
  • Implements operational best practices
  • Oversights campus cycle counting program

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year College or University; and 10+ years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Masters level preferred.  Degree preferences are Finance, Manufacturing Accounting, or Business Management. Financial / Manufacturing Controlling experience

  • Prior plant work experience preferred
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Ability to work with little direction in a fast-paced and matrixed organization
  • Must be a team player and able to work with cross-functional teams in multiple locations
  • Strong analytical skills and assertiveness
  • Experience in partnering with executive teams
  • High level of written and oral communication skills
  • Master’s degree in business or accounting - CPA desirable

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS and ABILITIES

    Language Skills:

    • Advanced language skills required

    Mathematical Skills:

    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume, as well as apply financial concepts of IRR and NPV.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

    Reasoning Ability:

    • Ability to constantly shape performance to top level. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of data in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  Individual must have ability to make independent decisions that may be of a complex nature.

    Computer Skills:

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and affiliated software packages.  Individual must possess the capability to function within SAP on a daily basis

    Other Skills and Abilities:

    • Individual must possess the interpersonal skills communicate with coworkers.

    Physical Demands/Work Environment:

    The ability to work in an office environment, which could include sitting or standing for the majority of the day.  Responsibilities include the need to lift, carry, push, and pull material on an infrequent basis.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
