This role manages the Human Resources function of the Power Tools Manufacturing Plant in Oragadam, near Chennai.

Job Description

Responsible for Product Purchasing of all Product Group(s)  along the complete life cycle. Strategic, Quality and Target Cost responsibility and accountability for related Product Group(s). Main contact interface to Commercial, Quality, assure aligned messages from Plant and BU to the Purchasing Community. Escalation management for Purchasing related issues (commercial, supplier quality, logistics)

Responsibilities include ;

Product Line Purchasing (Value Stream oriented) - Issues related to deliveries, capacity with the suppliers

Buyout Purchasing : Responsible for sourcing of Finished Goods [Power Tools all BUs] locally in collaboration with Global Purchasing teams.  

Ratio Projects Planning (RPP) - Identifying and Driving Ratio projects (end to end) to support VS / Plant in terms of achieving cost savings

Component Localization - Identify Localization potentials, supplier selection and implementation of the projects 

New Product development for all new products (platform / transfer) - development to Handover of parts to the respective VS for series production

Tooling (EWAK) Management - Utilization of tooling budget, Keeping track of Tool life and ordering of Follow on Tool to ensure Business continuity

Dual Sourcing - Developing alternate sources for Critical components, Enhancing Capacity with the existing suppliers.

Audits - related to Commercial approvals, adherence to processes / procedures

Business Plan / CF workings - Support for BP, CF activities - RPP planning, Source change, quota change

Data Management in PILUM modules - PUE, TLM, Sourcing 

Qualifications

Post Graduate / Graduate in Engineering with additional qualification of supply chain functions and Project management 

Preferable streams - Mechanical, Electrical, Production and Industrial Engineering

15+ years of Experience in Commodity sourcing, Localisation, Vendor management, Part costing

Knowledge Project management preferably on commodities like Plastics, Aluminium, Stamping, Turning etc
