Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities :
Seeking a Thermal Design Engineer with strong experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Li-Ion battery-based systems for customer projects. The role involves end-to-end responsibility for thermal system design, simulation, validation, and support through production, with a strong emphasis on safety, certification compliance, and manufacturability
Thermal Design & Simulation
Execute thermal system design for BESS / Li-ion battery systems, including:
Air cooling / liquid cooling concepts
Heat dissipation paths
Thermal interface design
Perform thermal and CFD simulations using ANSYS Workbench or similar tools to:
Predict temperature distribution and gradients
Validate cooling effectiveness
Identify thermal risks and hotspots
Correlate simulation results with test data and refine designs accordingly
Standards & Certification
Understand and support BESS certification and compliance requirements, such as:
Safety, thermal, and mechanical compliance considerations
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet certification, regulatory, and customer requirements
Support documentation and design evidence required for certification and audits
Qualifications
Educational qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Experience : 5 - 7 yrs
Mandatory/requires Skills :
Experience in thermal design of battery systems (BESS / BMS / Li-ion batteries)
Hands-on experience in thermal simulation (CFD) using ANSYS Workbench or similar tools
Experience taking designs from concept to final design and release
Exposure to battery safety, thermal runaway mitigation, and enclosure sealing concepts
