Job Description
SUMMARY: To provide supervision, guidance and support to all team leaders and operators and insure that all teams are operating efficiently and meeting production targets. Duties and tasks are frequently non-routine. Resolves most questions and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.
Shift: Mon-Fri 11pm - 7am
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Enforce/improve standards of safety and ergonomics, quality, productivity, and housekeeping with respect to 5S standards. All aspects of production are to be driven by lean manufacturing principles of predictability, organization, and efficiency improvement (through the elimination of waste).
• Allocate labor in response to fluctuating orders; set priorities for production.
• Guide labor by enforcing the handbook policies (i.e. absenteeism, standards of conduct, discipline, etc.).
• Guide teams in productive recordkeeping of scrap, traceability, downtime, rejects, and required control plan checks.
• Ensure proper handling of non-conforming material.
• Immediately inform appropriate personnel of issues including downtime, quality, component quality, and availability that are an obstacle to production. Must be able to develop an alternative strategy to overcome obstacles.
• Cooperate with other shifts to satisfy weekly production goals.
• Ensure adequate training of production operators to allow for flexibility in labor allocation to meet production goals
• Support maintenance of training records and matrix for assembly lines
• Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety policies
• Conduct regular audits (Quality- LPA, Work Station, 5S, Operator, etc.)
Qualifications
- Two year degree and/or zero to two years related experience and or training.
- Experience should be gained in areas of manufacturing operations.
- Zero to two years experience in manufacturing/assembly operations for entry level candidates.
- Ability to act as a member of the management team in addition to performing duties as directed by the department manager.
- Ability to coach and mentor the Associates on the Assembly / Manufacturing lines in your area(s) of responsibility.
- Ability to assist the department manager in fulfilling the specific objectives and goals set for the Business Unit.
