Hardware evaluation engineer
- Full-time
- Legal Entity: Bosch Service Solutions, S.A.U.
Company Description
Within the Bosch universe, there is a division where we don’t just use technology—we create it at its most fundamental level. We are the Mobility electronics - Integrated circuits (ME-IC) division, the innovative heart that powers the future of hardware.
Our mission is to be the engine of mobility and smart technologies by designing and developing the semiconductor components that serve as the brains and senses of tomorrow's products. This is where Radar SoCs (System-on-Chip) for autonomous driving are born, where sensors that enable the Internet of Things (IoT) are developed, and where microcontrollers that manage energy efficiency in electric vehicles are engineered.
Our work spans the entire lifecycle: from the initial concept and architecture, through design and simulation, all the way to hands-on validation of the physical silicon. We are the team that transforms a groundbreaking idea into a functional, revolutionary chip.
At Bosch, we are committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment, where all people are valued and respected
Job Description

You'll work hands-on with advanced hardware, ensuring our designs meet the highest standards of performance, quality, and reliability. This is a critical position where your expertise will directly contribute to the success of our groundbreaking products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Silicon Characterization: Analyze, characterize, and debug sub-system parameters of our sophisticated Radar SoC in a laboratory environment, focusing on RF, analog, and mixed-signal performance.
- Automation Development: Design and implement concepts for the automation of system parameter evaluation, developing efficient and repeatable test methodologies.
- Design Collaboration: Work in close partnership with our design teams, providing critical feedback, comparing evaluation results, and deriving actionable improvement measures for future iterations.
- Platform Expertise: Specify requirements for new evaluation platforms, actively maintaining and optimizing existing equipment to ensure state-of-the-art testing capabilities.
- External Partnership Management: Act as a key interface to external development service providers, overseeing and guiding the development of specialized evaluation platforms.
Qualifications
- Education: Successfully completed university studies (Bachelor's, Master's, or Diploma) in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a comparable field, with a strong focus on high-frequency technology or high-speed converter characterization.
- Professional experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant hands-on experience as an Evaluation Engineer, specifically in post-silicon validation, characterization, and debug of complex semiconductor devices.
- Technical know-how:
- Solid understanding and practical experience in transceiver measurements (RF, analog, mixed-signal).
- Demonstrable knowledge of PCB board development and layout principles.
- Proficiency in common scripting languages for test automation, with Python being the preferred choice.
- Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.
- Language skills: Very good written and spoken English skills are essential for collaborating within our international teams. German language skills are a plus.
