Job Description
We are excited to offer you the opportunity to join our Sales department as a Specification Account Manager!
The Direct Sales channel is responsible for generating new business, developing long‑term customer relationships and driving sales of Hitachi Cooling & Heating solutions. The Direct Sales channel focuses on delivering sustainable growth by promoting our residential and commercial HVAC portfolio including RAC, PAC, VRF, Chillers, and heating systems, while supporting clients with technical advice, application design and energy‑efficient solution development.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Building and nurture strong relationships with MEP consultants, HVAC designers, architects, and contractors to drive specification of Hitachi’s HVAC portfolio.
- Promoting advanced HVAC solutions — including heat pumps, VRF/VRV systems, chillers, and controls, through CPDs, technical presentations, design meetings, and site visits.
- Identifying and engage with early‑stage construction and refurbishment projects, influencing specifications from concept through detailed design.
- Providing technical support on system design, product selection, performance data and compliance with UK regulations and sustainability standards.
- Assisting consultants with load calculations, system layouts, and integration of Hitachi solutions into building services designs.
- Tracking projects from design to installation, ensuring specification retention and maximising conversion to orders.
- Collaborating with internal engineering, product, and sales teams to deliver tailored HVAC solutions aligned with the new brand direction.
- Preparing technical proposals, submittals, drawings, and documentation required for consultant approval.
- Maintaining accurate project pipelines and customer interactions using CRM tools.
- Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to support strategic planning.
- Representing Hitachi at industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums as the brand strengthens its UK presence under Bosch.

Qualifications
Education requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related HVAC discipline, or equivalent technical experience.
- Proven experience in HVAC specification sales, technical sales, or HVAC design engineering.
- Strong understanding of HVAC system design principles and industry standards (e.g., CIBSE, ASHRAE).
- Ability to interpret HVAC drawings, schematics, and equipment schedules.
Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence technical decision‑makers.
- Strong organisational skills and comfort managing long, project‑based sales cycles.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and standard office software.
