Our Norman Manufacturing Plant is a facility supporting the research, design, manufacturing, and testing of our rooftop products in the HVAC market. The 900,000-square-foot facility includes almost 400,000 square-feet of incremental laboratory and manufacturing space and renovations to over 150,000 square-feet of office and meeting space

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Operations Manager to join our team in Norman, OK, United States. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all internal fabrication aspects of our manufacturing facility's operations, ensuring optimal efficiency, productivity, and compliance with safety and quality standards.  This role overseas sheet metal fabrication, coil fabrication, paint, copper and tube bending.

  • Responsible for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people performance of the operations described above.
  • Oversees approximately 300 employees across 3 shifts with a production manager and supervisor organization underneath. 
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize plant operations, improve productivity, and reduce costs
  • Manages and coordinate all production activities and adherence to schedule; strong collaboration with production scheduling, inventory control, and internal logistics to produce and flow material optimally
  • Analyze performance metrics and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control measures
  • Lead and develop a team of supervisors and staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with other departments to align plant operations with overall business objectives
  • Oversee equipment health and partner with engineering and maintenance organizations to minimize downtime and maximize productivity
  • Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles and quality management system

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in plant operations management, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and productivity
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, quality control systems, and safety protocols
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Proficiency in operations management software and data analysis tools
  • Strong budget management and financial acumen
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Six Sigma certification is preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance in the manufacturing industry
  • Experience with supply chain management and vendor relations
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously
