Job Description

What you will do 

You will conduct daily delivery tasks to customer facilities and job sites .  When not out making deliveries or running transfers, you will conduct warehouse duties such as loading/unloading deliveries, picking materials for next day orders, assist in the receiving and put away of replenishment stock, sweeping and general clean up to ensure a safe, clean work environment. 

 

How you will do it 

  • Plan, organize, and follow department schedules.
  • Move parts and materials to support assembly operations.
  • Route and/or operate equipment to move materials, parts, products, and other equipment to and from designated areas.
  • Coordinate delivery of material needed for unique materials, reports material shortages.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, and Production Control to collect and provide information when the substitution of parts and materials is necessary.
  • Responsible for implementation of Engineering Changes and deviations concerning purchased and fabricated parts at the point of use.
  • Maintain accurate stock disposition, prepares reports such as excess inventories, parts status, and researches root cause for shortages.
  • Maintain materials in dynamic storage locations in the supermarket and parts presentation line side. 
  • Manage emptying of kan ban bins and cardboard disposal.
  • Maintain material handling equipment and related records, keeps aisles cleared and orderly.
  • Use SAP for materials management transactions and research.

 

 

    Qualifications

    What we look for

     

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Successful completion of motorized equipment training classes as required.
    • Must hold and maintain a JCI fork lift license.
    • Must understand the Johnson Controls Manufacturing process and be detailed oriented.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and Operational Method Sheets (OMS). 
    • Must be able to communicate effectively.
    • General computer skills.
    • SAP experience is preferred

Weight amounts may vary from 5 pounds to 50 pounds, any amount over 50 pounds requires physical or mechanical help. Must be able to lift 25 to 50 pounds, 1 to 30 times an hour. Continuous movement of arms and repetitious twisting motions of upper and lower back to move and reposition load(s). Must be able to step up on fork truck several times per shift and use upper body to support body weight when stepping up on fork truck. Continuous mental/visual demand required extensively when operating fork truck. Varied degrees of mental demand required when organizing bins/pallets in work area. Overtime may be required to meet production demands and could include Saturdays and Sundays when necessary.

    Practice safe work and environmentally friendly behavior and participate actively in safety and environmental training. Maintain and use as required all personal protective equipment (PPE)and other safety equipment provided. Follow environmentally sound practices to help reduce pollution and conserve natural resources. Understand hazards associated with job assignments and alert supervisor/management of any unsafe conditions or  environmental concerns immediately.”
